Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we woke every morning with an inspirational quote that would accompany us throughout our day until we closed our eyes at night?

My sketch books are overflowing with snippets of paper covered with inspirational quotes and sayings.

Whenever I come across stirring words – from an email, a book, web site – it goes into my file. I think of them as little conversations with the author.

Wouldn’t it be interesting to have a brief conversation with Emily Dickenson, Albert Einstein, or Pablo Picasso?

Amazing words of wisdom from so many perceptive individuals – authors, artists, inventors, and even everyday folks. It is unbelievable how my attitude improves after reading through them.

If you’re like me, good intentions are in place to live these words, but everyday life intrudes … laundry, school, the job. It’s so easy to lose that glorious feeling of peace and fulfillment.

One of the first items to get kicked off our To-Do list is the “take care of my inner self” entry.

I believe it was Deepak Chopra that compared our energy levels to a pie. How big is the piece of pie we give away at work? To our family?

For most of us we’re lucky to have a tiny sliver of energy left at the end of our day for self-fulfillment. When I worked in the corporate world, I had little or no pie left to nourish my creativity.
