New CollagesMy first order of business is to gather my quotes, words, and images. Next comes the 3D extras - found objects, treasures, and hardware. I always work on multiple pieces. Sometimes that means the same concept on different color canvases; sometimes it means that each of the new collages will be unique in concept and color. I love digging through my treasures to match just the right elements. You may see small picture frames, various drawer or door handles, nails, game pieces, metal letters, tins, and wood pieces in my work. Once I have all the elements together, I decide on the color to paint my canvases and whether or not I want to add any physical texture. For these collages, I decided to use visual texture with tissue paper and stamped images. The pieces shown on this page were all created on 1.5" thick gallery wrap artist canvases.
