Altered Book Details

Below you will find individual photos that show more of my altered book details.

Take your time to investigate these photos closely. In these books, you will find examples of painted pages, collage, cuts to make holes, niches, or drawers.

These two altered books have a lot of metal details.  I've used black screening, treasures from my stash of rusty stuff, found metal from the highway, collage images, my daughter's poetry, and other miscellaneous items.  When you click on the photos you will be able to see all the altered book details.

The book 'Hope' is based on the prose of Emily Dickenson.  Don't you just love the wings?  I cut an opening in the cover of this book to accommodate the tiny chest.

'Wings' illustrates a wonderful poem:
Beating your wings and feathers,
You broke free from this cage
Rising up to the sky
You attained the world of the soul.

24 Hours Secret Garden

'24 Hours' is based on a saying I found in an Avon magazine ad of all places.  I found it to be very insightful words.

'The Secret Garden' altered book has a wonderful secret drawer!  The cover is collage with cut out flowers from a gardening magazine.  I particularly enjoyed finding just the right garden photos to use.
