Funky little canvases that make house shapes

Feb/Mar 2007
(pages 46-47)

Funky School Portrait collages on stretched canvas
Gifts for my siblings, Christmas 2005

Me!

Gallery Winter 2007
(pages 68-70)

Each of these started with a CD case.

I've used some of my most precious treasures
to create these little treasures.

How many things can you identify?

Seeker
The Seeker is one of my favorite pieces.  I have a collection of old brass house numbers and used the number 3 here.  The most unusual object is the lamp shade frame.  And to think I almost threw it away!

Soul Travel
I used one of my rusty circular metal objects on this assemblage - I'm really not sure what it is.  One of my favorite collage  techniques is to use both the positive and negative of a picture, like the hands you see on the front and back.

Time
In this assemblage, I really enjoyed making the figure shape using old square nails, a clay face and some sort of rubber gasket.  The back is collaged with pages from a dictionary.
